Ophthalmologist
Dr. Christina Rodriguez McKenna is a comprehensive ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon joining Eye Associates of North Florida in July 2026. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Virginia Department of Ophthalmology, where she served as Chief Resident and was recognized with the Resident Teaching Award for excellence in resident education and mentorship. During residency, she was selected to attend the prestigious AUPO SCOR Advanced Cataract and Anterior Segment Surgical Skills course at the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. McKenna earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Virginia following post-baccalaureate studies at the University of Michigan. Prior to her medical career, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Miami, where she majored in Studio Art with a minor in Anthropology.
She has clinical experience as a general ophthalmologist and cataract surgeon and has contributed to ophthalmic research and academic presentations on retinal disease, ocular immunology, and neuro-ophthalmic conditions. Her published work has appeared in JAMA Ophthalmology and regional ophthalmology conferences.
Dr. McKenna is passionate about patient-centered care, surgical excellence, and educating patients throughout their vision care journey. She is fluent in English and professionally proficient in Spanish, allowing her to connect with a diverse patient population. Outside of medicine, she has a strong background in photography, outdoor recreation, and community engagement.
