Dr. Jerry Ford was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in western Kentucky. He graduated Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University with a chemistry degree. He then attended the University Of Louisville School Of Medicine and graduated Magna Cum Laude. After completing his training, he practiced cornea and external disease as an assistant professor at Wake Forest University Eye Center before joining Eye Associates of North Florida in 2000. He is currently a Clinical Professor for Florida State University School of Medicine, Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Family Medicine, and Internal Medicine program.
Dr. Ford is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and continues the process of maintaining recertification. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Cornea Society, the FMA, and the Florida Ophthalmology Society. Dr. Ford has had the pleasure of being listed in the Best of Tallahassee edition of Tallahassee Magazine, has served as president, and has been on several boards for the Capital Medical Society.
Dr. Ford enjoys being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.

I have been a patient of Dr. Ford's at Eye Associates since 2001. He is caring, and very thorough in all aspects of care. He has performed a number of cornea transplant surgeries on me both of my cataract surgeries and dealt with various other eye problems through the years. My husband and I will stay with this facility and doctor for the remainder of our lives or until Dr. Ford retires.
Everything was explained thoroughly and everyone was kind.

Ethel at the front desk runs the place like a polite drill sergeant. Deon trained two new employees while giving me a complete exam. Kayle, Dr. Jerry Ford’s left and right hand, defines quiet competence. Dr. Ford is my eye doctor for life; long may he live and practice.

Everyone was wonderful on my first visit to visit Dr Jerry Ford, from the first greeting to leaving!! Bailee was exceptional with the care she provided from her sweet spirit to getting my prescription right. I felt blessed to be able to see Dr Ford with all of his wisdom. The last process was with Shelby picking out my glasses she was very helpful and told me all the perks getting glasses with them, loved her beautiful smile!! It was a wonderful experience !! Appreciated all of them for making it a wonderful experience !!

Dr. Ford is a wonderful doctor and a talented surgeon. I went in for a pterygium extraction because my vision was impaired. He diagnosed the problem quickly and surgically removed the pterygium. It is very difficult when you lose vision at 41 even if it was only in one eye. After the surgery my eyesight is clear in my outlook on life is positive. The staff at Tallahassee Eye Associates is very professional and courteous. I would recommend them to any of my family and friends.
