Optometrist
Dr. Josh Trafton was born and raised here in Tallahassee. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of West Florida in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He then graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a member of the Northwest Florida Optometric Association, and is board certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO-BC). He has served as a clinical preceptor to the Illinois College of Optometry and as a consultant to the Florida Board of Optometry.
Dr. Trafton is a past board member of the Children’s Home Society and is a founding director of the Everhart Excellence Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, benefiting the children, faculty, and staff of Gretchen Everhart School. This is a busy office but very organized and professional. Dr. Trafton is attentive and kind, and it’s been through his great care of my mom that I have also come to him as a patient now as well. The optician, Belinda, who helped me sort out my new lenses, was also very kind and patient. Thank you!
Arrive for my appointment was welcome in. All techs were friendly and greeted me as well. The OD Mr. Joshua Trafton was great reviewed my photos and made the determination and decided to request my pervious records and would complete and resume his report from that request. Thanks in advance again.

For a super busy doctor’s office, I was amazed at how efficient and how kind everyone was. From the person at the check in desk to everyone in between to seeing the actual doctor, it was a great experience for my first eye doctor appointment.

Went to my yearly vision check yesterday. Admitting people were friendly and efficient. Was called quickly. The tech was also friendly and proceeded with the tests. Waited 5-10 mins. Dr came in and examined my eyes and found nothing had changed since last year. The admitting person gave me dark glasses that helped against the bright sun. Fine experience.

It was my first time visiting this facility ! It was a wonderful experience with Dr. Trafton and his team. I would like to thank them as they gave me enough time to explain my problems about my eye and then took enough time to give me satisfactory answers of my questions !! It's a clean and welcoming site as you enter in the building with rest rooms and drinking water fountain and standing water bottle filler station. As you enter there's a sitting area in the left with enough chairs and magazines to look at. ( Not all are about eyes of course !! 😄) Next to it, glasses of various brands are on display. If they write a prescription for your eyes, you can collect that prescription here. And if you want to get those prescription glasses, that facility is also here ! I just don't find a vending machine for food here ! 🤔 And I think it's for the best for the patients and for them too !! ( Less crumble to clean 😊) So if you're with kids bring some food for them if it's there feeding time !! They have enough parking space and the facility is wheelchair assistant too ! And one more thing please enter through the main entrance and not the other one ! It's closed for patients !! I know because we went there ! They already put instructions about the same which we read just as we reached the door! If your eyes are getting dilated please don't drive especially in sunny weather ! Just bring a buddy who can drive you back. You know because after they dilated your eyes you'll see too much bright and when looking at white car it suddenly appears too shiney to look at as if it has an angel's aura ! And wear sunglasses !! Take care of your eyes and they'll take care of you ! Thank you. 🙏🏼

Considering my age (Senior mid 60), It's essential to go through a more thorough eye exam instead of an optical clinic. This place has it all. With our recent annual eye exam visit, Dr. Joshua Trafton explained what's going on with my eyes and what the future would be for my eyes/vision. I appreciate the time he spent in informing me of this.
I had an urgent visit with Dr. Traffton today. He provided excellent services. He previously was my optometrist when he worked at the HourGlass. We lost touch and I didn’t know he was with Eye Associates until this bust. So glad to reconnect with this AWESOME OPTOMETRIST!
